HUNTERS Assistant Coach, Enock Maki says Hunters are set to take the Central Queensland Capras tomorrow at the Santos National Football stadium for the trial match.
He said Hunters have been correcting few errors from the last two trial matches and are now locked in for the third and the last preseason trial with Capras.
While the Capras will have several PNG players included in the lineup for tomorrow’s game, Maki is content with the current pack and says the team is focused on how to execute the game.
After the second trial match against the Northern Pride, Hunters coaches have made several changes to the lineup while giving prominence to several players who have performed well.
“New Boys have done well over the trial match with the Northern Pride at Barlow Park. They played very well. There are several areas that we need to work on but overall they played well,” Maki said.
“It will be a challenging match but we are focusing on ourselves this week, trying to fix few errors that we have identified from the last trials,” he added.
“Ila Alu and Branden Nima are back into the lineup, Clent Lama goes to seconds, Alex Max returns to centers, halves same, props we have several changes, steven Bruno and Zebedy Kip and Benji Kot moves to second row,” he concluded.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 4:00pm at the National Football stadium in Port Moresby and is open for the public to watch.
We know that Cameron Smit is a rugby league great and his visitation is a great boost for the team.
It is a big thing that PNG will enter NRL and we are telling the boys to do their best if and they may have the chance to be considered as one of those fortunate players to join the new NRL team.
Robert is fully ready but we have given him this week to fully recover, Seal has gone into full contact, still we are rushing him. At least he rehabs well and is one hundred percent fit so we can bring him back. Robert Mathias is ready for game one.
