Trukai Industries Limited officially presented a three-bedroom Bumbu Range Kit Home, valued at over K132,000, to its Southern Region winner on Monday this week.
The winner, Iamo Rigana, was overjoyed as Trukai Industries delivered the home to him—marking the fulfillment of his prize from the Roots Rice “Win Your Own Home” Promotion, which ran from 7 October 2024 to 28 February 2025. The major draw was held on 27 March 2025.
Rigana was one of four lucky winners selected from each region. The other winners were: Madila John from Wau-Waria, Morobe Province (Momase); Ukut Inako from Kainantu, Eastern Highlands Province (Highlands Region); and Pauline Simahun from Lorengau, Manus Province (New Guinea Islands Region).
During the handover ceremony, Rigana thanked Trukai Industries for his prize and said the home was a true blessing for him and his family.
“I picked up five entry tickets during the promotion and was lucky enough to win the home,” he said.
“I want to thank Trukai Industries for running a promotion that is not just about winning a house, it’s about changing the lives of everyday Papua New Guineans.”
Rigana currently lives with his family in a small makeshift shelter in Koki Village, Moresby South District.
