MINISTER for Mining Rainbo Paita has commended International Trade and Investment Minister Richard Maru on hosting a successful Special Economic Zones Summit in Port Moresby this week.
“I would like to commend Minister and your team, secretary, chairman, and CEO of Special Economic Zones for hosting a successful conference,” Mr Paita said.
“Social media has diluted the sense of everyone being a commenter and a critic, only a few people who are willing to put time, effort, resource, and energy to make things happen in this country.
“Minister Maru, I am in a cabinet to always supportive of Special Economic Zones. There will be people criticizing you on a few things you’ve started, but that is how things start.
“Special Economic Zones must be a priority in our government and going forward because that’s the only way we can attract foreign direct investments in Papua New Guinea.”
Minister Paita assured Mr Maru of his continued support in the cabinet and that they would make SEZ “our top priority”.
