Minister for Health Elias Kapavore says that facts surrounding several recent deaths at Angau Memorial Hospital in Lae will be established following an investigation.
Mr Kapavore said this in response to questions from Kabwum MP Patrick Basa in Parliament last week.
The Minister said an investigation was being carried out to establish whether the deaths happened because of a prolonged power blackout.
“Facts surrounding the deaths are part of an investigation,” he said. “Causes of the deaths will be established once the investigation is complete.
“We need to know how or why the patients lost their lives,” Minister Kapavore said.
