As Artificial Intelligence continues to reshape content creation on social media around the world, a locally-produced AI film is proving that Papua New Guineans are not only keeping pace with emerging technology but are also finding innovative ways to use it for business, marketing and creative storytelling.

A two-minute AI-generated commercial film produced for 2 Fast Motors by local creative agency Neon Visuals has attracted widespread attention on social media, surpassing 100,000 views and generating strong public interest on its platform.

Many viewers throughout Papua New Guinea and the Pacific have praised the film’s cinematic quality, creativity and professional presentation, with some commenting that the visuals resemble productions usually associated with major international studios.

The project is believed to be among the first AI-driven commercial brand campaigns of its kind produced in Papua New Guinea, highlighting the growing opportunities Artificial Intelligence is creating within the country’s creative and digital sectors.

Speaking to the Sunday Bulletin, the owner of Neon Visuals, who requested anonymity, said the film was created to demonstrate the positive and productive side of AI technology.

He noted that while Artificial Intelligence is often associated with misinformation, scams and other negative online activities, it can also be used responsibly to create professional content, strengthen business branding and open new income-generating opportunities for Papua New Guineans.

“The success of this project shows that AI is not something to fear. It is a tool that can help businesses grow, create employment opportunities and allow local creatives to compete on a much bigger stage,” he said.

The producer added that Artificial Intelligence is already transforming industries globally, including advertising, media production, marketing, education and entrepreneurship.

He believes Papua New Guinea has the potential to benefit greatly from these technological advancements if young people are given opportunities to learn and apply them in practical ways.

The growing interest surrounding the 2 Fast Motors campaign comes at a time when discussions about the future of technology and innovation are becoming increasingly relevant in Papua New Guinea, particularly with events such as the upcoming Datec AI Summit at APEC Haus.

Industry observers say local practitioners who are actively working with AI can offer valuable insights to students, entrepreneurs, content creators and business owners by sharing real-world examples of how the technology can be used within Papua New Guinea’s unique environment.

For many young Papua New Guineans, the success of this project serves as a reminder that technology is no longer something happening overseas. It is already here, creating new pathways in digital media, content creation, innovation and business.
