Education Officers in Jiwaka Province usually faces difficulties in mobility given the province huge land mass and high terrains from the North and Southern part of the province.

However, these hardships will now become a thing of the past after the provincial government and administration is providing fleet supports.

Education services in the Anglimp South Waghi District are expected to improve following the presentation of a new vehicle to district education services.

For more than 15 years since break away of Jiwaka from Western Highlands, the district education services have been without a vehicle, impacting on vital school inspection and monitoring of schools apart from other key responsibilities.

Provincial Administrator Rick Kogen, while presenting the new vehicle to longest serving District Education Advisor Regina Arre on Friday- says the Administration is committed to improving education in the province.

PA Kogen said, the Provincial Government and Administration will provide continuous support for education sector in the province building capacity and strengthening the workforce.

Mr Kogen said, the Administration have also purchased two similar vehicles for North Wahgi and Jimi District Education Officers, will be delivered once registered.

He also raised concerns on the trend of claiming state issued vehicle after leaving office.

“We must to claim state issued vehicles after your term is over,…we are only the custodian of state vehicles while holding the key positions at the administration level.” Kogen said.

He appealed for public servants to be accountable when exit with respect to other upcoming public servants.
