DEPUTY Leader of Pangu Pati and member for Lae John Rosso has reaffirmed the party’s unity and readiness for the 2027 National General Election (NGE), following the party’s 28th National Convention held in Port Moresby.

Rosso made the remarks during a press conference yesterday after the convention at Hilton Port Moresby, where party members and leaders gathered to discuss the party’s direction and preparations for the next election.

He said Pangu Pati remained committed to strengthening its internal structures and building a strong party organization ahead of the national polls.

“As you can see by the turnout today, Pangu Pati remains committed, Pangu Pati remains united, and Pangu Pati is ready to face the elections next year,” Rosso said.

The Deputy Leader emphasized the importance of strengthening political party hierarchies and ensuring party structures remain effective and resilient, adding that other political parties could also benefit from strengthening their organizations.

Rosso said Pangu Pati would continue its outreach efforts across the country, informing supporters and citizens about the party’s vision and achievements.

He also urged political leaders and candidates seeking to form government to respect the democratic process by securing the mandate of the people through elections.

“Those who want to retain government or challenge for leadership should go to the election, get the people’s mandate, secure the numbers,

and then form government through the proper process,” he said.

Reflecting on the party’s historical role, Rosso said Pangu Pati continues to be a significant force in Papua New Guinea’s political landscape.

“Pangu Pati is united and is an integral part of the birth of Papua New Guinea. The history between Papua New Guinea and Pangu Pati remains entwined and will continue into the future,” he said.

Rosso thanked party members and supporters for their continued commitment and said the party would move forward with a firm resolve as it prepares for the 2027 election campaign.

“We stand united going forward for a better Papua New Guinea,” he said.
