THE Institute of Banking and Business Management (IBBM) proudly celebrated the achievements of 50 graduates during its 72nd graduation ceremony held at its Konedobu campus in Port Moresby last Friday.

The institute, in partnership with Torrens University Australia and Lyons College, celebrated graduands who completed programs in Business Management, Business Information Systems, Leadership and Management, and Project Management. The qualifications awarded ranged from Diploma and Associate Degree to Bachelor’s Degree, Graduate Diploma and Master’s level.

The ceremony not only marked the completion of the graduates’ academic journeys but also the beginning of new chapters filled with opportunities, innovation and service to Papua New Guinea. The event was held under the theme, “Learning for Life, Developing Skills, Strengthening Careers, Transforming PNG.”

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) Chairperson’s Award for Outstanding Achievement at the postgraduate level was presented to Walino Gamini. The Diploma of Business Dux Award, proudly sponsored by Kina Bank, was presented to Skilah Karani. The Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Business Information Systems Dux Awards, sponsored by BSP Financial Group, were presented to Tristen

Tarutia and Darren Tarutia, respectively.

IBBM Chief Executive Officer John Yelverton said the graduating class represented everything the institute stood for.

“The graduating class represents everything IBBM stands for-dedication, perseverance and a genuine commitment to making a difference. We are immensely proud of each one of them, and we look forward to seeing the mark they leave in Papua New Guinea,” he said.

He added that their success was a testament to the support of families, educators and communities who had stood behind them throughout their studies.

The institute also acknowledged the organisations whose sponsorship supported many of this year’s graduates. These included Kina Bank, BSP Financial Group, Westpac, ANZ, MiBank, the Bank of Papua New Guinea and PNG Fresh Produce.

“Their investment in their people is an investment in the future of Papua New Guinea,” the institute said.

IBBM congratulated the Class of 2025 and encouraged graduates to step forward and carry the values of curiosity, integrity and service into everything they do.
