The SOUTHERN region reign victorious as they claim the first place in four regions based on fighter performances.

Team NCD and Central province were only two teams representing Southern region in the Last Man Standing Kickboxing quarter finals yesterday, at the Taurama Aquatics centre in Port Moresby.

Team NCD alone had 37 fighters who participated in the fight. From the 37 fighters, 32 of them won gold medals, while five won silver.

Team coach and senior fighter for NCD, Nelson Samson while receiving the Cup today, thanked team NCD for having most of the Fighters and challenged other regions to accept the defeat while aiming for a tough challenge next time.

NCD has won this and will never give it to anyone. If you want to win, challenge us,” he said.

Coach Samson said the team would now redirect their focus on the semi-finals and finals in the later date this year while looking at representing NCD at the PNG games.

Samson thanked PNG Kickboxing Federation under the leadership of Stanley Nandex for hosting the event that

showcased the upcoming talents in PNG.

He also Acknowledged PNG Prime Minister, James Marape for making his appearance yesterday with New Ireland governor Byron Chan and several department heads.
