Dr. Billy Joseph, the Member of Parliament for Nipa-Kutubu District, has been appointed Minister for Health in the latest cabinet reshuffle after previously serving as Defence Minister.
Under the new ministerial arrangements, Dr. Billy will lead the Health portfolio while continuing to oversee responsibilities relating to the National Disaster Centre.
Former Health Minister Elias Kavapore has been appointed Minister for Defence as part of the government’s wider changes to ministerial responsibilities.
The changes bring new leadership focus to two key areas of government — health services and national security — while maintaining continuity in disaster management oversight under Dr. Billy’s continued responsibility for the National Disaster Centre portfolio.
Further announcements are expected as the full cabinet reshuffle details are released.
