THE PNG Chiefs will mark a defining moment in the club’s history with the unveiling of the club’s official logo at a special event in Port Moresby on October 21.
The event signals the next chapter for the PNG Chiefs ahead of its entry into the NRL in 2028.
Built on pride, ambition and a deep connection to Papua New Guinea’s people, culture and passion for rugby league, the PNG Chiefs logo will help to unite a nation as the club continues to establish itself on and off the field through a clear identity.
Designed to reflect the spirit of the PNG Chiefs and the values the club stands for the logo has been developed in consultation with Papua New Guinea design experts and will become the emblem carried by the club into its bright future.
PNG Chiefs CEO Lorna McPherson said the event would be a watershed moment for the club and a proud day for rugby league in Papua New Guinea.
“For a club that has had many special moments to date and will have many more to come in the future, this will be a remarkable occasion of celebration – not only for the PNG Chiefs but for Papua New Guinea as a whole,” McPherson said.
“Our logo will give our club a recognisable identity and symbol that our players, staff, sponsors, community and supporters can resonate with and truly call their own,” she said.
“It represents where we have come from as a nation, the values we will stand for as a club, and the future we want to build together for all Papua New Guineans, McPherson said.
“This is a logo that belongs to the entire PNG Chiefs community. It is a mark of pride for
Papua New Guinea and for everyone who has believed in what this club can become, and we are incredibly excited to walk into the next era of the Chiefs in this way,” she said.
The new logo will be accompanied by the official launch of the club’s inaugural jersey, which will be revealed and go on sale the following day on October 22.
The jersey has been proudly designed by a local artist and team with great thought given to pricing structure and availability for all Papua New Guineans.
Further details regarding the October 21 logo launch and October 22 jersey reveal will be communicated by the PNG Chiefs closer to the event.
