THE Kandrian Gloucester District Development Authority (KGDDA) has welcomed the appointment of Mrs Rita Serem as Acting District Finance Manager, following the official handover and takeover ceremony held today at the Department of Finance in Port Moresby.

The ceremony formally marked the transition of responsibility for the Kandrian District Finance Office from outgoing District Finance Manager Mr Johnny Suagu to Mrs Serem.

KGDDA Chief Executive Officer Dr Steven Yennie thanked the Department of Finance for facilitating the transition, welcomed Mrs Serem to the role and acknowledged Mr Suagu for his service to the district.

“This transition represents a renewed opportunity to strengthen financial discipline, accountability and cooperation across the district. Our priority must now be to ensure approved projects are processed efficiently, public funds are properly safeguarded and financial administration supports, rather than delays, service delivery,” Dr Yennie said.

He said KGDDA looked forward to working closely with Mrs Serem and the Department of Finance to

strengthen financial compliance, timely reporting and accountability, while ensuring approved development projects translate into tangible results for communities across Kandrian Gloucester.

“Our success must ultimately be measured by whether roads, health, education, housing, economic initiatives and other essential services reach our people. When leadership, administration and finance work together with clear responsibilities and mutual accountability, we turn decisions into results.”

KGDDA congratulates Mrs Rita Serem on her appointment and looks forward to a new chapter of stability, transparency, financial discipline and effective service delivery for Kandrian Gloucester District.
