Buk Bilong Pikinini ( BbP) in partnership with FinCorp, today donated 1000 books valued at K4,600 to Holy Rosary Primary School in the National Capital District (NCD) as part of the Buk Bilong Pikinini School Library Re-establishment Program.

The books ranged from different categories, elementary students books( 0-6 years), (6- 12 years books), atlases, dictionaries, reference books, and teacher resource materials aiming to give students a wide variety of materials to support their studies and learning.

Speaking during the handover, Buk Bilong Pikinini Public Relations Officer and Team Lead Mrs. Mary Sawa challenged students to read more.

“These books are donated with a mission to increase the literacy rate in the country. We want you students to develop a love for reading because reading will help you persue and complete your education, Try to read more books so that you can continue to learn new things,” Mrs. Sawa said.

FinCorp Head of Sales Mr. Adrian De La Rey said every book is an adventure.

“Every book feeds your mind and allows you to acquire knowledge. We want to help these young kids grow, gain knowledge, and be the best they can be. We believe children are our future and we must invest in them. As a responsible corporate organisation that is what we are going to do. That is why we are partnering with Buk Bilong Pikinini, and we are looking forward to doing a lot more,” Mr. De La Rey said.

He added this is the second donation FinCorp has made in partnership with Buk Bilong Pikinini, with more planned for other schools.

Holy Rosary Primary School Head Teacher  Mr. Stanley Tony thanked both organizations for the donation.

“This is my second year as head teacher here and I am very thrilled to have Buk Bilong Pikinini in partnership with FinCorp donate these books to Holy Rosary Primary School as we do not have a library at the moment,” Mr. Tony said.

“To receive quality education there must be resource materials for any learning institution. Now, with the donation of these 1000 books, it will boost the learning of students when they are not in classrooms.”
