THE second Bougainville Joint Supervisory Body (JSB) meeting is currently underway in Enga’s provincial capital, Wabag.

The two-day JSB meeting which starts tomorrow follows on from the first Joint Inter-Government Post-Referendum Consultation which was held in Kokopo in May.

It will be the first time for the JSB and the Inter-Government Post-Referendum Consultation to be held in the Highlands.

Prime Minister James Marape arrived in Wabag on Sunday, July 4 for the Bougainville Joint Supervisory Body (JSB) Meeting and 2nd Joint Inter-Government Post-Referendum Consultation tomorrow (July 6).

This will be followed on Wednesday and Thursday by the Porgera Pre-Development Forum in Wabag.

PM Marape arrived at Wapenamanda Airport with NCD Governor Powes Parkop and Moresby North-West MP Lohia Boe Samuel after a team of national and Bougainville leaders.

Autonomous Bougainville Government President Ishmael Toroama arrived in Enga with his delegation on Saturday, July 3.

Hundreds of people packed Wapenamanda Airport and lined the road between Wapenamanda and Wabag to welcome PM Marape and his delegation.

PM Marape proceeded to the Sopas Campus outside Wabag, which houses Sopas Hospital and Enga College of Nursing, where he opened four three-bedroom units constructed by local SME, Cost Guide PNG Ltd, at a cost of K3 million under National Government Public Investment Programme (PIP) funding.

He commended young Cost Guide PNG Ltd Managing-Director, Frank Tokai, for completing the task and added his Government would look at engaging the company for more work.

PM Marape then attended a dinner hosted by the Enga Provincial Government for Bougainville and PNG delegation in Wabag.
