Morobe provincial government empowers local people

THE Triple 1 Policy of the Morobe Provincial Government under the leadership of Morobe Governor Ginson Saonu, MP took another great leap with the passing of 200 people at Wau Rural Local Level Government.

They have been certified and trained to be more productive business people in their respective projects.

The initiative is the Vision of Governor Saonu who has set a benchmark for Morobeans into the future to become productive, wealthy, healthy and wise citizens and to earn a living that will eventually contribute back to the local economy of Morobe province.

“The Triple 1 Policy of MPG serves to make Morobe province a self-reliance province,” emphasized Governor Saonu.

Governor Saonu said the SME program for Morobe province has taken another chapter with the Christian Church Partnership Program with the ELC PNG Parish Congregations of Wau in which the 200 people graduating from.

The 121st Graduation was attended by MPG CCPP Officers Willie Mainu, James Sipa, Adult Literacy Officer Administration Officer Jennifer Kais, Jebi Tani, Administration Officer Roy and Program Coordinator & Head Trainer Proposal Writing Alfred Gase and Media Assistant Armstrong Gomora.

Governor Saonu said the participants were further trained in Adult Literacy Skills Training running parallel with the Education Reform Policy of MPG and this is an added bonus for the people of Wau.

According to Head Trainer Alfred Gase, similar trainings were conducted in various locations in Morobe province including a recent one at Salamaua Local Level Government area.

The main objectives of the program were:

  1. Relation with Families, Churches, Community and others;
  2. Partnership with three Local Level Governments. Stakeholders, Donor Aid Agencies, NGOs & CBO Groups;
  3. Strategies – Hospitals, Prison Camps, Widows, Care Centres and;
  4. Establish a strong Christian Church Partnership Program
