BLACK Orchids are the Champions of the NiuPower Sports Tok 7s after defeating Gerehu Natives 22-7 in the grand final at Sir John Guise Stadium last Sunday.
The Black Orchids qualified for the semifinals by defeating Barbarians 8-5 in the extra time at Bava Park on Saturday before becoming champions after the grand final.
Coach Tsidom Semoso, while speaking to Sunday Bulletin, expressed his gratitude towards the boy’s performance.
He said the boy’s performance started with their preparations from home.
“Discipline has played a huge role in the performance of the boys,” Semoso said.
“The results of the games started in the pool games.”
While going through the pool games, the coach emphasized on the defence of the team as they encountered some tough games from what he compared to as the provincial team playing against the development of the national squad.
“It was a tough challenge but, because of the love the boys have for the game, we were able to win,” he said.
