The International Training Institute (ITI) aims to ensure every graduate entering the workforce is both Artificial Intelligence (AI)-aware and AI-ready.

Speaking at ITI Kokopo Campus’ second graduation ceremony, ITI Chairman and Co-Founder, Mr. Kumaran Sentheyvl, said that if education is the foundation of personal and national progress, then AI is rapidly becoming the architecture of the modern workplace.

He shared experience and observations on how AI has transformed industries over the past two years and said it will reshape how people live, learn and work going into the future.

Mr. Sentheyval recalled on the second AI Summit hosted by ITI this year, describing it as an outstanding process featuring 19 speakers and panel members with more than a thousand attendees both online and in person. He said this is the kind of conversation PNG must continue to lead and ITI is proud to e in the centre of it.

“AI isn’t going to replace you. It’s here to take the repetitive, time-draining parts of your job so you can focus on judgement, creativity and the work that actually needs a human. If used well, it doesn’t shrink your role, it sharpens it,” he said.

He said ITI is responding by offering Corporate AI courses and integrating foundational AI into academic programs within the Institution itself.

“That is why at ITI we are now offering Corporate AI courses, and we are actively integrating foundational AI into our programs so that every ITI graduate steps into the workforce AI aware and AI ready,” Mr. Sentheyval said.

He also outlined ITI’s 27 years in PNG, including academic pathways, digital transformation, industry partnerships and student employment.

Mr. Sentheyvl said since last year, ITI has signed multiple Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with industry partners for On-the-Job Training (OJT). This has led to a significant increase in student placements, with a number of graduates converting OJT into full-time employment.

“We will sign more MOUs across more industries this year. Through these partnerships our students will have more access to invaluable on-the-job training, building real-world skills alongside industry professionals,” he said.
