Kapavore warns asthmatic patients to be warry

POMIO MP and Shadow Minister for Health Elias Kapavore is urging patients to take precautionary measures during this time of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Kapavore said Asthmatic (sik sot win) cases will unfortunately is the vulnerable group.

“If you are in this category, make sure you carry bottles of inhalers (apart from tablets) with you and use them when necessary and to prevent your condition getting worse.

For those who can afford a nebulizer machine (sot win box), this is highly recommended so they don’t have to go to the hospitals, especially considering the current scenario at PMGH,” he said.

The Shadow Health Minister however said all our urban clinics and health centres must be equipped with nebulizer machines with designated sections made available and accessible.

Foot operated machines must be made available to our health facilities without power supply or during power blackout.

“Asthmatic patients are vulnerable group of our community during this time of Covid-19.”

He also urged the asthmatic patients and the general public to wear masks, avoid public places, keep warm, steam baths, warm drinks, keep away from smokers, take good organic balance diet and take extra care.

“Trust God and do not panic,” he said.

Meanwhile, a recent Covid-19 death reported from Rita Flyn is a person with Asthma. The deceased Casper Uramani was admitted for asthma a week ago, unfortunately he passed away.
