THE Leadership Tribunal has recommended for the suspended MP for Madang, Bryan Kramer, to be dismissed from his office for scandalizing the judiciary.
The tribunal also recommended a fine of K10,000 for the MP after he was found guilty of five counts, with K2,000 imposed on each of the allegations 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10.
Justice Lawrence Kangwia chaired the tribunal, and the decision was made today at the Waigani National Court.
Mr. Kramer faced a total of 11 allegations of misconduct, three of which were related to social media publications that purportedly scandalized the judiciary. The allegations were in regards to the conduct of Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika, suggesting a conflict of interest. One other allegation was in relation to Kramer’s alleged interference with police operational matters, which resulted in the termination of Paul Puri Nii, the former director of legal services, who is now a committal court magistrate at Waigani.
The other allegations against Kramer relate to the Madang Development Authority’s decisions to establish its own company, Madang District Works and Equipment Limited and Madang Ward Project Limited, to implement the DDA’s development programs. The funding was provided to the wards to construct their classrooms, aid posts, and repair town roads that had been neglected by the provincial administrations.
