Ten new probationary constables have been posted to Southern Highlands Province will boost police manpower.

Acting Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Chief Inspector Mas Tuman, said there was a manpower shortage and the constables would fill the gap.

“I expect the Probationary Constables to always maintain self-discipline and serve the people of Southern Highlands with honesty and respect whilst maintaining their line of duty,” he said.

“I want you all to follow good examples from those officers who are serving in the province and avoid bad practices as well.

“These additional officers are significant boost to our manpower, and I am looking forward to working with them.”

PPC Tuman urged experienced police personnel to lead by example and support the probationary constables to enforce law and order in the province.

He added that the probationary constables would undergo an induction program after which they would be posted to police stations in the various districts.
