PRIME Minister James Marape has warned members and supporters of PANGU Pati in the Momase and Highlands region that there is no so called PANGU Pati agent nationwide doing a PANGU membership and recruitment drive.

The Pangu Pati leader clarified that the party has not officially announced a structure as yet as part of the party’s nationwide drive leading to 2022 National General Elections.

He advised that if someone is known conducting these activities must be reported as fraud to the nearest Police station.

The Prime Minister further clarified that the party will announce their nationwide program for the rest of 2021 going forward 2022 only after the party convention on Friday.

The PANGU Pati convention will be held on Friday, August 27 in Port Moresby.

Prime Minister while welcoming the two new members to his team said the party is in progress of reorganizing for 2022 national elections.

“We are getting in our party officials from other provinces into Port Moresby for the national convention.

“The national convention will affirm our party structure, our party constitution; we will also affirm our party policies.

“The convention was supposed to take place in 2018, however, due to COVID-19 and other political impulse in between, the convention has been delayed up to this year,” Marape said.

Prime Minister further announced that the major full long convention for PANGU Pati will be held in Lae in March of 2022.

The convention will see all 38 MPs of the PANGU present as well as the non-parliamentary wing and the party executives.
