PARLIAMENT was half empty yesterday with only few opposition MPs in attendance allowing parliament Speaker Job Pomat adjourn to 10am today.

Speaker who was seen to be deliberate in his proceedings adjourned yesterday afternoon’s session due to continuous tardiness from Members of Parliament during sitting time.

The Speaker who presided yesterday’s session was not available for comments; however his Deputy Koni Iguan said, he was informed by Mr. Pomat that Parliament was adjourned because of poor punctuality from MPs.

It is believed that Mr. Pomat is aiming to instil discipline among MPs to improve in their attendance and tardiness.

Mr. Iguan said, it is on record that no one parliament sittings has ever convened on time therefore the Speaker in this remaining term of parliament will apply the Parliament Standing Orders for all MPs to comply.

All MPs have been urged to be on time for today’s session.
