PNC Party Leader Peter O’Neill to release statement on Maru’s resignation

THE People’s National Congress (PNC) party is expected to release a statement following Hon. Richard Maru’s resignation as both PNC party Member and Deputy Leader of the party.

Mr Maru who got elected into Parliament in 2012 as independent candidate for the Yangoru-Saussia electorate joined PNC Party and remained loyal to the party until his announced resignation from the party today.

Maru thanked PNC Party Leader and former Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill for providing strong leadership, thus far with him being serving key senior ministries under the party.

He said his announcement was done for the benefit of his people of Yangoru-Saussia district through consultations.

PNC Party Leader and Member for Ialibu-Pangia, O’Neill told PNG Bulletin that he will formally announce the party’s stand in a statement regarding Maru’s resignation.

O’Neill was responding to queries posed by PNG Bulletin Online whether he was consulted regarding the said resignation of Mr Maru.
