WAPENAMANDA DISTRICT ALLOCATES K1 MILLION FOR SCHOOL FEES

The Wapenamanda District Development Authority (WDDA) has allocated K1 million to subsidize school fees for students attending tertiary institutions throughout the country.

WDDA Chairman and local MP Hon.Miki Kaeok (pictured)made this announcement after his first meeting with all the ward councillors of the Wapenamanda LLG and the Tsak LLG.
The Vice Minister for Works and Highways emphasized his belief on the importance of integral human development as the Wapenamanda District does not have any natural resource or minerals to support its local economy.
He said prioritizing the human resource development of the district will bring back more development and service into the respective communities when educated elites return back and support their communities in different ways.
Vice Minister Kaeok encouraged tertiary students from the district to apply as the WDDA will be assisting all students who will be attending to tertiary institutions and urged all to comply with simple instructions being put foward by the District Administration.
For 1st year students, all students are urged to attach their Acceptance Letters with their valid official school ID while continuing students are encouraged to attach their official transcript plus their official school ID with a letter from the school confirming their current student status accordingly.
He assured the parents of the district continuous support regardless of whether they voted him or not as last year WDDA paid a total of K800,000 for tertiary students and will continue this year going foward.
