Young Eralia shares his personal income to invest in Children’s Education

By Maxpital Paul

Investing in children’s education is important for their wellbeing and for wider communities, says a Journalist.

Mr. Emmanuel Vincent Eralia, who hails from Erave Rural in Southern Highlands Province and a journalist attached to NBC Enga Province, through an interview, says he had a passion to support children’s education in whatever possible ways on his hands.

“I have taken incentives to revive education for children who are attending primary and high schools in Erave Rural before covering other LLGs in Kagua Erave District, of Southern Highlands Province” Eralia said.

Mr. Eralia has announced that students of Erave High and Gobe Agro High Schools will be the first ones to receive my support including Mararogo Primary School.

“I have purchased 1x laptop and 3in1 printer each for the mentioned high schools to sponsor Dux Awards while Mararogo’s grade 8 Dux Award and runner up Dux will receive K500 and K300 cash respectively during their graduation later this month,” said Emmanuel Eralia.

Meanwhile, young Eralia secured and committed K1000 cash to grade 12 Social Science Strand (Dux Award) and Leadership Award for Mendi Secondary School as a form of appreciation to his former high school before entering Divine Word University. The presentation will be done during the graduation on the 7th December, 2023.

“I am very humbled that I will be the first person to give something back to the school amongst those who passed out of the institution under its Secondary School status. I look forward to come support our school in a much bigger way next year onwards,” Eralia stated via his Facebook account.

Eralia, through an interview, said that the initiative he is taking will inspire and motivate students to do competitive studies where it will enhance their abilities to work harder throughout their education journey.

He mentioned that the country (PNG) is going through economic difficulties (inflation) but that doesn’t stop him from investing in human resources as it is his greatest interest. He saved his hard-earned income to serve others especially students so that he wanted to see more engineers, doctors, accountants, teachers and many more professionals who can contribute meaningfully towards the community-based developments.

Mr. Eralia urged fellow professionals and like-minded individuals to do same and or take other incentives as in law and order sector, health, church, agriculture, and tourism as part of giving back to where we belong to. We cannot always wait for our Members of Parliament and politicians to do (developments) for us and or wait for free handouts. It’s time we make differences in our local communities from what we learnt in universities and colleges.
