DAVID Manning Controller of the National Pandemic Response, Papua New Guinea has announced that approval is now being given for the Boroko Amateur Swimming Club (BASC) and Papua New Guinea Swimming Inc (PNGSI) to begin their training programs at the Taurama Aquatic Centre (TAC) swimming pool area.

He stated that it is envisaged at this time, that BASC will utilize the pool facility only from 3:00pm to 5:30pm, Monday through to Friday outside of the COVID-19 drive through testing hours until such time as the restrictions are lifted.

To assist the guards to allow access to Swim Club members, signs have been created for vehicles and are to be displayed on front windscreen. All Club members have BASC Membership ID cards which are to be produced if arriving on foot.

PNGSI will remain obligated to the health and welfare of its athletes and remain informed of the general COVID-19 risk assessment and mitigation checklist set out by the National Pandemic Response.
