No funds to implement health programs

By JOE GURINA
HEALTH workers in Central Province are facing significant challenges due to insufficient funding for the implementation of health programs.
This has resulted in the inability to conduct essential immunization programs in various districts, posing health risks for children under the age of five.
It has been reported that since last year, health workers have had to dip into their own pockets to carry out these crucial health programs. Notably, health centers such as Sogeri Urban Health Center in Koiari Hiri district, Bereina Health Center in Kairuku, and Moreguina Health Center in Abu have all highlighted the difficulties they face in delivering vital health programs to their respective communities.
Health Extension Officer for Moreguina health centre Ringo Kappa said it’s a night mare to experience this struggles when they are trying to deliver the health programs.
He conveyed dissatisfaction with the financial feedback received from the Central Province Health Authority (CPHA), indicating a pressing need for a critical solution to this problem.
He says this issue is felt right across the entire districts of Central and urges for a critical solution to this problem.
Kappa said the CPHA must address this issue with the assistance from respective District Development Authorities and the Governor’s office.
Attempts to reach the Chief Executive Officer of CPHA to make a respond on the matter was unsuccessful.
