MEMBER for Nawaed Theo Pelgen is committed to deliver a new Labuta High School in his district during this term of parliament.
He said this new high school project has been stalled with only talk and no action being undertaken.
“Nawaeb District team will make sure the construction of the new school comes into reality,” Mr. Pelgen confidently said.
He said: “Now the school has been captured in the Nawaeb District Five Year Development Plan and will focus to bring the project into reality”.
The MP made this statement last Friday following his visit to Yambo village of in Ward 6 of Labuta Local Level Government.
Pelgen’s visit was forced by women of Yambo Village who had sent him a WhatsApp video via NDDA Women’s Representative Rebecca Michael earlier on Monday last week.
The local MP assured the women and the surrounding community of Yomba village that he will get the new high school delivered during this term of parliament.
CEO Mr Buds Botikie said the new high school will cater for all children of Primary Schools graduating at Labuta LLG.
He said the people of Labuta deserve a high school, because all other wards have a high school and secondary school established already.
Both Mr. Pelgen and CEO Buds Botikie assured the people of Nawaeb they will work along with District Officers to ensure they will always be on the ground to inspect work or work that needs to be addressed.
Mr Botikie said the challenge of having the District Headquarters at Boana Station as impacted people of the district to access information on development and services.
“Now this practice of seating in the office will change, as we will come down to village level and see for ourselves what needs to be done.”
Meanwhile, the existing water supply to the village will be upgraded this month according to Nawaeb MP Theo Pelgen.
He told the local councilor to bring the full scoping and implementation costs to him on Monday (today) for funding allocation.
The Nawaeb Technical Team from Allied Resources Limited was already on the ground on Friday doing inspections to the existing water project.
