NCDC spreads joy with Christmas program

THE National Capital District Commission has planned to bring holiday cheer to the less fortunate this Christmas as part of its 2023 Christmas program.
It has initiated a Gift A Smile Donation Drive for staff, clients, stakeholders, and partners for generous donations appropriate to the cause.

City Manager Ravu Frank said the aim was to put a smile on someone’s face this Christmas.
“It is a charity event to put a smile on someone’s face so they know they are not alone this Christmas,” he explained.

The donation drive was organized internally for staff to generously donate to the drive but is also extended to NCDC clients, stakeholders, and partners to consider assisting.

Locations to donate goods at the ground floor of City Hall, Annex Building, and Alu Building at Tarpot Engineering Depot. All items donated will be presented to the PMGH, Cheshire Homes, Safe Homes, and City Mission.

Frank urged the staff and everyone else to come forward with an open heart for the needy this Christmas.
“Christmas is a time for giving, sharing, being kind and generous, and helping those in need. Therefore, “let’s share the love of Christmas with a gift of a smile donation,” he said.

The donation is part of the 2023 NCD Christmas Program which the Commission is organizing this year for the city. The other event that will also be taking place this week is the Mobile Christmas Motorcade and Carols, leading up to the main event which is the Carols by the Sea today (December 17).
