SOLDIERS ASSISTED BY LOCAL MP IN LAGAIP DISTRICT

A Papua New Guinea Defence Force (PNGDF) platoon currently deployed to Laiagam in Enga Province to help in minimizing law and order issues was assisted by the Lagaip District Development Authority (LDDA) yesterday.
LDDA Chairman and local MP Hon.Aimos Akem has prioritized the minimizing of law and order issues in the district after taking office recently by personally visiting warring tribes and advocating for peace resulting in ceasefire and lasting peace between warring factions in some parts of the district.
It is the leader’s determination to ensure a peaceful society before government services can be established and associated developments taking place.
In appreciation of the work of the PNGDF in combating law and order issues in the district, the LDDA assisted a platoon from the Wewak Border Rangers of the Second Royal Pacific Island Regiment camping at the Laiagam Council Chamber with food ratios, bedding sets and blankets alike ensuring the security personnels were adequately fed and accommodated accordingly.
The local MP has taken ownership as the responsible leader to ensure a peaceful society is thoroughly maintained as he prepares to establish much needed government services and initiate socioeconomic developments throughout the newly created district.
