Aiton acknowledges Hunters Staff

Hunters Coach Paul Aiton, has expressed gratitude to everyone involved in shaping the final squad.

Aiton shared these sentiments while discussing the hunters’ pre-season and the selection process during the launch of the 2024 season in Port Moresby.

Acknowledging the crucial support provided by family members to the 52 hunters during their pre-season, Aiton specifically appreciated even small contributions like one kina and two kina for bus fare, ensuring their attendance at training sessions.

Out of the initial 52 players, 30 successfully progressed to the final squad after undergoing rigorous pre-seasons and screening processes. Aiton commended the collective effort, expressing gratitude to friends, families, and valued partners for their significant role in a successful pre-season.

“It’s a big pre-season, they did really though, thank you to the friends and families and valued partners, we had a great preseason.”

Highlighting the team’s three foundational principles—faith, family, and footy—Aiton noted the daily practice of faith, the familial bond within the Hunters, and the importance of football in the team’s identity.
“I’m really proud of our boys and what they have achieve throughout this preseason. I have asked for the players to come every day and do their best and they have done that,” he added.

Aiton also expressed gratitude to the staff, acknowledging them as the backbone of the team, emphasizing their early mornings and late afternoons dedicated to the team’s success.

In a special mention, Aiton extended his appreciation to those who contributed to the hunters’ pre-season, particularly recognizing the performance staff, coaching staff, and professionals from the Union who assisted in refining the players’ kicking and catching skills. He offered them the greatest respect and acknowledgment as he officially announced the squad for the 2024 season.
