Grade 12s Begin National Examinations This Week

Grade 10 students across Papua New Guinea completed their national examinations last week, paving the way for 36,500 Grade 12 students to begin theirs this week.

The examinations, which start today (Monday, October 13) and run until Friday, October 17, will be held in 250 secondary schools across the country, including the six National Schools of Excellence.

Below is the official Grade 12 examination schedule for the week:

Monday, October 13

  • Session 1: Advanced Mathematics Paper 1 / General Mathematics Paper 1
  • Session 2: Applied Science / History

Tuesday, October 14

  • Session 1: Physics / Accounting
  • Session 2: Geography

Wednesday, October 15

  • Session 1: Biology / Economics
  • Session 2: Geology / Business Studies

Thursday, October 16

  • Session 1: Language & Literature / Applied English
  • Session 2: Chemistry / Legal Studies

Friday, October 17

  • Session 1: Information Communication Technology /

Advanced Mathematics Paper 2 / General Mathematics Paper 2

Marking for the Grade 10 exams has already commenced, while arrangements are in place for the marking of Grade 12 papers once exams conclude. Grade 8 students will follow next, with their examinations scheduled from October 20 to 23.

The national exams represent a significant milestone for students as they conclude their secondary education and prepare for the next chapter of their academic or professional journeys.
