Hiri Koiari DDA signs electricity deal with PNG Power, contractor

THE Hiri Koiari District Development Authority in Central Province, through chairman and MP Keith Iduhu, signed an electricity deal this week.

The signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between PNG Power, contractor TLE and the Hiri Koiari DDA empowers the DDA:s rural electrification program to light up homes in district.

Koitaki to Kailaki in the Koiari LLG and Brown River to Akuku in the Vanapa Brown LLG will benefit from this electricity deal.

Mr Iduhu has prioritized the rural electrification program to bring comfort and for local to have to have access  to locals to electricity in their homes.

He said electricity provided comfort, confidence and improved the livelihood of the communities.

Mr Iduhu said the electricity deal would benefit the Hiri Koiari people who had missed out on this tangible service for a long time.

Community leader Sonso Avea said the electricity deal brings relief to local communities in Koitaki and Kailaki.

He described the electricity deal as a milestone, which was finally realized under Mr Iduhu’s leadership.
