PNG and UAE meet to strengthen Bilateral Relations

MINISTER for Foreign Affairs, Justin Tkatchenko met with Special Envoy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), His Excellency Omar Shehadeh, and discussed bilateral cooperation, promoting greater business engagement and encouraging increased investment from UAE into Papua New Guinea (PNG). 

Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to building stronger partnerships that support economic growth, job creation and sustainable development.

His Excellency, Shehadeh has visited PNG to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

Minister Tkatchenko welcomed His Excellency Shehadeh and acknowledged the growing partnership between PNG and the UAE, highlighting the importance of continued cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, infrastructure development and other areas of mutual interest.

The visit reflects the shared commitment of both nations to elevate diplomatic and economic ties while exploring new opportunities for collaboration that will deliver tangible benefits for their respective peoples.

Minister Tkatchenko said PNG remains open for business and welcomes strategic partnership that contribute to the country’s development agenda.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that PNG government looks forward to strengthening its relationship with the United Arab Emirates and working closely with His Excellency Omar Shehadeh and the UAE Government to unlock new opportunities for trade, investment and economic cooperation.
