Fans’ favourite and ENB Agmark Gurias winger, Chris Benjamin has been named in the 2026 PM’s XIII squad.
Benjamin is one of the promising wingers in the Digicel ExxonMobil Cup and has earned his spot in the 2026 PM’s XIII squad.
He Joined ENB Agmark Gurias in 2022 after switching codes from touch footy to Rugby union and then to rugby League.
But before that, he had to go through a challenging life to becoming one of the talented wingers for the Digicel ExxonMobil cup and ENB Agmark Gurias.
During one of the video interviews from the PNGRFL media, Benjamin’s story was captured as one of the special feature dedicated to the Mother’s Day.
In that video Benjamin shares his life story from where he started to how he ended up with ENB Agmark Gurias franchise.
Benjamin’s father passed away while he was still in school and he was raised by his mother. He had four brothers and no sister.
Life was tough but when the brothers were introduced to sports by their family members at home, things started going well for them.
Benjamin’s first-born brother went on to play for the PNG Pukpuks, the second born brother played Centre for Gurias while Benjamin played at the wing.
“Joining Gurias, I realised that players welfare was taken care off well, school fees were paid and other necessities were provided,” he said.
Benjamin join Gurias in 2022 and built his skills to be one of the athletic wingers in the Digicel ExxonMobil cup over the years.
He had won several awards in the Digicel ExxonMobil Cup competition, including being featured in the team of the year as the best winger for the year 2025 and helped the ENB Agmark Gurias to win the 2026 Digicel ExxonMobil cup premiership title.
His humbleness has always driven the crowd crazy and has a big fan based across Papua New Guinea. He is loved for being him and becoming one of the sensational wingers for PNG.
His hard work, determination and perseverance has earned him a spot in the 2026 Prime Minister’s XIII selection for the PM’s XIII match that will be played on October 3rd, at the Santos National Football Stadium in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
