BUK bilong Pikinini (BbP) has announced its three-year renewal of partnership with PNG Air at 6-Mile Library Learning Center, Port Moresby.
PNGAir had been supporting BbP since 2018 by providing free tickets to BbP officers to travel around the country where the Local Library Centers (LLC) are located and also providing free airfreight of books and library kits to the centers.
BbP public relations and marketing officer Mary Sawa said the partnership had greatly helped BbP.
Ms. Sawa said that with the free tickets to more than 10 BbP officers go around the country to monitor the LLCs to make sure that everything runs smoothly.
She added that the books that are airlifted across the country are more than a thousand and are categorized into different kits which are useful for the LLCs.
“Getting the books to their location can be quite difficult when we have such large cargos, so we are very grateful that PNGAir comes to our rescue to help us deliver them to the respective provinces,” Ms. Sawa said.
Book bilong Pikinini has 20 Local Library Centers in the country in which 11 are located in Port Moresby while the rest is located outside the province.
The partnership will continue to support the centers outside of Port Moresby.
PNGAir’s marketing officer Wendy Igara said the partnership was renewed on March 23rd and PNGAir is looking forward to support BbP for the next three years.
BbP has also published a book with PNG Air titled “When I Grow Up I Want to Be A Pilot” and has commemorated the World Pilot Day today by kids roleplaying what happens at the airport.
“The book inspires future various and it inspires kids to develop aspirations at a young age,” Ms. Sawa said.
With this partnership, PNG Air continues to support BbP and contribute to the literacy and early learning for every child across the country as a Platinum Sponsor of BbP.
