THE Central Provincial Government has launched yet another concept to preserve their culture and identity.

The “Tiare Vavine” or the “Frangipani Woman” is the theme the Miss Central Pageant Committee has adopted to showcase young women from the Central province.

This is an initiative of Governor Robert Agarobe who saw the need to revive the dying cultural practices in the province.

“This pageant’s focus is on reviving and preserving the lost and waning cultural assets of the Central people through education and awareness of cultural practices and values.”

Governor Agarobe said there was no exact amount of funding pledged towards this pageant however he affirmed his commitment towards this pageant as it balances itself on the platform of cultural tourism and entrepreneurship.

The “Tiare Vavine Pageant” is part of the Central Provincial Development Plan theme, our identity and destiny towards a smart and sustainable future.

Meanwhile, seven young women from Central province have shown their keen interest to participate in the first ever Miss Central Pageant which will be staged later this year.
