AS part of its community service oriented program, the Eco Pacific Tourism Institution in Mekeo, Kairuku district had reached out to the Inauaia health center, engaging in in community service this week.

The students from the Southern Campus at Inauaia, ward 5 of the Mekeo LLG had  engaged in community service  , donated food supplies mainly garden produce and store goods, did clean up of the entire health facility and it’s surrounding, and prayed for the sick patients.

Principal of the institution, Mr Alphonse Foimae Junior said the community service program delivered by the institution was basically to harness values and see that the values are a missing link in a society.

“Most of the time we continue on our daily lives and we turn to forget some of the most important things in life.

” So the program at Inauaia health center was basically to help the students understand the values and recognize and appreciate the health services provided by the health center over the years to the community.”

” In a way, we try to empower the students with such community oriented services that they may appreciate at the end of the day,” he said.

He said the institution will extend the community service programs to other health facilities and institutions in the district.
