FORMER Member for Namatanai, Byron Chan has refuted claims on social media (Facebook) that former Prime Minister and New Ireland Governor, Sir Julius Chan is critically ill due to Covid-19.
Mr Chan who is the son of Sir Julius wrote on his Facebook wall that the claims are somewhat misleading and misreported.
“I totally refute these claims as misleading and whoever’s promoting this rubbish must stop.”
“Yes, Governor Sir Julius Chan has been sick possibly from food poisoning and bedridden due to the constant vomiting and low sugar levels as diagnosed by our local doctors in Namatanai. He is recovering slowly under medication and hopefully fit to travel for further medical checkups overseas in Australia if necessary,” Chan said.
