PANGU DECAMPS WEWAK

By MICHELLE AUAMOROMORO in Wewak, East Sepik

PANGU party and its coalition partners who have been camping in Wewak, East Sepik this week will be decamping to Port Moresby this weekend.

This announcement was made this afternoon by East Sepik Governor, Hon. Allan Bird.

Governor Bird said this was due to the slow return of writs that had seen a lot of members not been declared yet.

“So, the Prime Minister has now indicated that by tomorrow, all the members who are now here will be decamped to Port Moresby for the next leg of the planning.”

Bird added that the camp in Wewak was planned for a week.

“And that one week ends tomorrow, so this camp will be leaving by tomorrow morning.”

Bird thanked the people of East Sepik for welcoming the members who joined the camp in the last few days.

“I think, our members were very happy for the relaxing stay in Wewak, preparing them for the major event that will take place over the next few days.”

Bird also announced that there would be a week retreat in Wewak right after the formation of the government.

“Prime Minister realized that he had made a commitment to chart a course for the next stage of work for the new government here in East Sepik.

“So, he wants to give us assurance, particularly to the people East Sepik that right after formation of government, there will be a one-week retreat here in Wewak in order to honor that commitment that he made,” he said.
