PARTY HOPES TO SEE RESTORATION OF GOVERNMENT SYSTEMS

By MICHELLE AUAMOROMORO

SENIOR Member of People’s Party, Hon. Dr. Tom Lino said on of the main things that the party hoped to see in the formation of the new government was the restoration of the government systems, with law and order as one of them.

Dr. Lino said this yesterday at Hilton Hotel in Port Moresby while representing the People’s Party to reaffirm its position as a coalition partner to the Pangu Party.

Dr. Lino, the re-elected MP for Wabag Open Seat pointed out to Prime Minister and Pangu Party Leader, Hon. James Marape that People’s Party was a small but significant party to the current coalition.

“We are a small party but important coalition partner to your government.

“People’s Party is one party that has stood through times with the principles that we represent to fight against corruption.

“As we’ve all always maintained, we are an extension of Pangu party and we remain.

“We are here to give you the confidence and the support to Pangu and yourself as the Prime Minister, and we hope with the principles and values that People’s Party represent will play an important part in the formation of the government that is actually in formation,” he said.

Dr. Lino said People’s Party supported Hon. James Marape because they had seen him through the ‘toughest of times’ where he stood up and passed some important legislations.

“We believe in his government, and we support the current coalition,” he said.

Meanwhile, People’s party, so far, has three declared members and they are Enga Governor, Hon. Sir Peter Ipatas, Talasea Open MP, Mr. Freddie Kumai, and Wabag Open MP, Hon. Dr. Tom Lino.
