Port Moresby North-West by-election count delayed

COUNTING for all ward areas in in Port Moresby North-West by-election has been suspended today due to the delay in police allowances.

Police officers providing security for all counting venues have all gathered at the Sir John Guise Stadium waiting for further notice regarding their outstanding allowances.

The returning officer (RO) Desmond Timiyaso assisting the counting at the Sir John Guise Stadium said they will begin counting once the police allowances issue is being dealt with.

The four counting venues include, Sir John Guise Stadium, Murray Barracks, Hanuabada and PILAG (Pacific Institute of Leadership and Governance).

The Sir John Guise Stadium will be the central counting venue after all primary counts are done.
