Candidate praised electorate for peaceful polling

By MORTIMER YANGARRY

PANGU Pati candidate, Aimos Akem, has praised the people of the newly created Lagaip open electorate in Enga for a peaceful one-day polling that concluded yesterday.

“I take this opportunity to thank all Election Officials, Security personals, voters, candidates and all other people who were involved in the Lagaip supplementary elections 2023 for a very peaceful election,” Akem said.

As a former Special Projects Coordinator for the Enga Provincial Government, Akem acknowledged the people and highlighted that, for the first time, the newly formed district experienced a peaceful polling process.

“I know this peace will continue to counting and will also continue in the forsaken Lagaip Valley in the many years to come,” Akem said.

Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission is yet to confirm a central venue for counting to proceed forthwith.
