A church building project estimated to cost more than K4 million in Sinsibai village, Tambul-Nebilyer District, has received a timely boost from one of the country’s renowned and well-established companies to support the ongoing construction.
The Sir Brian Bell Foundation has backed Sinsibai Catholic Sacred Heart Parish with K50 000, as a way of giving back to the communities and to ease-off the burden the Churchgoers and the congregation members going through at this time of construction of their new church structure.
Brian Bell Group of Companies Mt Hagen branch representative Hanna Dumu while presenting the dummy cheque to the Church and fundraising members last week at Sinsibai in the Upper-Nebilyer area, said that it was fitting for the Foundation to help and support Churches in any capacities they could. He believes, Church is the only avenue to mould, shape and steer this nation into better place for everyone.
Dumu said the money will be put into good use and it was what Brian Bell and the Foundation was all about. That was to see communities transform and citizens live in a God-fearing, respected and safe societiey.
Sinsibai Catholic Sacred Heart Parish church building project fundraising Chairman Allan Sumb commended the Foundation, adding that the project is one of the biggest rural church projects, which was estimated to cost at least K4m, and have already exhausted K1.2m at the construction of foundation phase alone.
“Today is a day of thanksgiving and celebration for the Sinsibai Sacred Heart Parish community,” Sumb said.
“On behalf of Archbishop Most Rev. Dr. Clement Papa, Parish Priest Fr. Kenneth Londe, the Sinsibai Parish Church Building Fundraising Committee, and all parishioners, we express our deepest gratitude to the Sir Brian Bell Foundation for its generous donation of K50,000.00 towards the construction of the Sinsibai Sacred Heart Parish Church,” he said.
Sumb said the contribution was far more than a financial donation and it was a gift of hope, faith, and encouragement.
“It is helping us build not only a church, but a sacred place where generations of families will gather to worship God, celebrate the Holy Eucharist, receive the Sacraments, and strengthen their faith for many years to come,” he said.
He thanked Sir Brian Bell Foundation, its management and the staff for taking the bold step to invest in new church building project.
“Your generosity will leave a lasting legacy in the lives of thousands of Catholics who will worship in this church for generations to come,” he said.
Sumb also acknowledged individuals, families, businesses, government agencies and those who have supported the project through prayers, donations, fundraising efforts, and encouragements.
“Every contribution, regardless of its size, is helping us build something truly special for the glory of God,” he concluded.
