PNG Hunters are on basic training mode as they head into a month of pre-season camp before they go into festive season break.
Hunters Head Coach Paul Aiton said there are good number of young boys in camp at the moment and the coaching staff will start work on finalising the team before announcing who will be returning to the camp after Christmas break.
He is impressed with junior Kumuls in camp.
“I found out young boys here and many of them might have got (training as) shock to their body at first but I feel like the longer they staying with us the better they will be,” Aiton said.
“We are just really doing basics over and over again and trying to be more dynamic.”
He said the block one training will end on December 17 and they will return next year for the block two.
“The players will know if they make the train on squad or not during the block two training,” Aiton said.
“Once we cut (the team), it’s not completely because as usual injuries do happen so we’ll keep working.”
He said experienced players in Hunters camp are now leading the way and the boys are bonding well.
Coach Aiton said though the junior Kumuls players may not make the Hunters team for the season 2024, they are looking better.
