Kerowagi district to have new market

THE Member for Kerowagi, Francis Kikin Siune, has assured the people of Kerowagi that funds have been allocated to build a new market building.

He said that his administration has already allocated some funds to construct a new market for the people of Kerowagi.

“I urged the people of Kerowagi not to worry because the budget for the new market was already allocated before the collapse of the old market building,” he said.

Siune thanked the late Kerowagi MP, John Kamb, for his excellent leadership in the Kerowagi district during his regime, and the people of Silku and Kamaniku.

He described former Members John Kamb, Wena Willie, and Siwi Korondo as the best-performing MPs in Simbu Province during their tenures.

“I express my gratitude to the former MPs for their tireless efforts and contributions towards the Kerowagi people over the years. One man cannot build a nation or society alone, but collective efforts and contributions are needed, and together they will build a better nation and society,” Sinune said.

He further explained that the DDA and the administration under his leadership will erect a new market building for the people of Kerowagi.

“My administration has allocated funds to build a new market, and they are waiting for the release of the 2023 DSIP grant. Once the funds are released, the money will be diverted to perspective zones for development.

“We will build the new market as well as construction of some proposed markets this year,” he added.

Siune also mentioned the ongoing development in the district, such as road construction, e-learning, v-set payroll system, vehicles, and more.

He said: “No Kerowagi will be left behind” in government development”.

Sinune also promised that as long as he holds the office, he will do everything possible for the people of the Kerowagi district as he does not want to see any Kerowagi resident left behind in government development.

He appealed to his people to cooperate and anticipate any development that will take place with a good heart and mind so that they can make Kerowagi a better place for everyone.

Sinune urged the people to be a part and parcel of the development and not feel neglected.
