LDC set to supply livestock products to China

THE Livestock Development Corporation (LDC) for the first time has secured a two-year membership with PNG Hong Kong-China Chamber of Commerce (PNGHCCC).

This membership signifies that the LDC is now being certified to have access to markets in China, by supplying all livestock products.

Last Friday in Port Moresby, PNGHCCC Chief Executive Officer David Kumis presented the membership certificate to the Chairman of LDC Mr. Martin Gynauru in front of other LDC staff and management.

Minister for Livestock and Member for South-Fly Hon. Seki Agisa later joined the presentation ceremony of the membership certificate.

Mr. Kumis said the PNGHCCC’s primary role is to drive foreign investments by creating marketing avenues for PNG agricultural products.

He applauded the staff and management of LDC for securing the membership for a period of two years to promote and have access to markets, particularly in China.

The CEO said this membership is significant as it promotes LDC’s vision in creating sustainability both in market accessibility and productivity.

LDC Managing Director Terry Koim acknowledged PNGHCCC for granting the membership.

He said the membership is timely as it paves way for LDC to realise its investment goals, as well as promoting livestock products.

Although livestock products like pork and poultry have huge market in Asian countries, Mr. Koim said LDC will firstly look at supplying poultry products to the markets in China.
