ONE of the sons of Southern Highlands Province, Peter Nupiri, has called on all the illegal settlers of Mendi Town to immediately vacate the town and go home.

Mr. Nupiri who was on the ground to receive Prime Minister James Marape and Member for Mendi Munhiu Hon. Rapheal Tonpi and give them his moral support for the opening of Mendi Airport which was deferred to later late.

While calling on all illegal settlers and migrants to do away with illegal activities in Mendi town, he called his people of Bush Karins to go back to their villages.

Following Mr. Nupiri’s calls, the people agreed to leave.

He further told them that Mendi Travellers Inn is on a state land and state agencies will take care of it so any opportunists needs to go home.

His election is over though it is before the Courts of Disputed Returns, Nupiri told his people leave it to the courts and look forward for 2027.

In the meantime, all illegal settlers and migrants were sent home with 2 PMV loads.

“This is now a call to all leaders of Mendi Valley to do the same with your people.

“Do the same and let’s take back Mendi town.

“Leaders need to take stock of your people and let’s take back Mendi.

“Together let’s rebuild and take back Mendi town.”
