The burial ceremony of late Paiela-Pogera Open MP Hon.Maso Karipe was held today at his Suyan village just outside of the giant Pogera gold mine area.
The late leader’s body was brought into Enga Province last week from Port Moresby via Wapenamanda Airport on a chartered Dash 8 Air Niugini aircraft.
Present at the burial ceremony were fellow Pangu Pati parliamentary colleagues in Finance and National Planning and Monitoring Minister Hon.Rainbo Paita and Lagaip Open MP Hon.Aimos Akem who were there to assure the family members, clansmen and the people of the Paiela-Pogera District that their pioneer MP was a honorable man who held the aspirations of his people close to his heart.
Mourners from all over the district in the Paiela-Hewa LLG, Pogera Rural LLG, Pogera Urban LLG and the Maip-Mulitaka LLG attended the burial ceremony as the two Pangu MPs mourn together with the people for the last time before he was laid to rest.
Coincidently, on this solemn day, Barrick Niugini Limited (BNL) officially announced the reopening of the giant Pogera gold mine set for next week Friday which has been a developmental agenda that the late leader pursued until his ultimate passing.
