Foreign Affairs Minister and Moresby South MP Hon. Justin Tkatchenko is the hard-working Member of Parliament and best performing state minister, PrimeMinister Hon. James Marape says.
Speaking at the launching of the Moresby South 5-Year District Development Plan today, Mr Marape described Minister Tkatchenko as a leader who never stops working.
He commended the combination between the City Hall, the Governor of Nation’s Capital Hon. Powes Parkop and Moresby South MP Minister Tkatchenko.
“Minister Tkatchenko is passionate about his electorate and the country, when he speaks about his electorate or our country, he gets emotional.“He is up at 2am finding solutions to better your lives, and our lives, that’s thelife we chose to live,” he said.
Mr Marape said Moresby South is clear in what it wasn’t to achieve in the next five years in line with Vision 2050.
“I want to appreciate the level of clarity Moresby South brings to the table in as far as what an achievable outcome in the space of next five years within the context of vision 2050 for our nation’s prosperity.
“I hope by the time we reach 2027, the hospitals in Moresby South relief Port Moresby General Hospitals, schools are working better and settlements are properly converted and titles awarded to people who have been living there.
“Our original landowners, the Motu Koitauans, place is secured so we don’t trample upon their rights, we make Port Moresby a safer city especially down town.’
“That is a wonderful reflection of how together we can work for a betteroutcome.
“Today I’m here to join the wonderful combination of leaders at the district, provincial and at national government, we are overlaying our leadership to partners districts and provinces to deliver better outcomes to our people.
“As diverse as Port Moresby South and the two other urban electorates, to successfully deliver a harmonious electorate that is prosperous, Port Moresby south can be a reflection of what can be done elsewhere.
“Our nation has so much blessings but we are not able to prosper much because we think it is someone else’s responsibility.
“Find a place in Moresby South for contribution to nation building, you have a grole to play in building your electorate, city and our country.
Mr Marape has called on Minister Tkatchenko and NCD Governor Powes Parkop to ensure that there is no loitering and littering in certain locations including downtown make it a safer city in the first instance.
“I propose Port Moresby South becomes the first electorate where we start the safe city program and conversion of proper titles living in the electorate and we have land properly allocated to those who want to live in the city, we order aproper decent living in cities.
“Moresby South is prepared and moving ahead and clear space is identified forpartnership with different people who live in this electorate.
“I want us to have a proper dialogue on how we could tidy the electorate and ensure it is living properly and the outcome will be outcome of safe, Port Moresby, NCD and PNG, better city, better people and better country.
“I want to commit our national government’s partnership to this district so that we could make a safer Port Moresby South, Safer city contributing to a better country,” Mr Marape said.
